East Ridge Mount Edith Cavell

Ross and I climbed the East Ridge a long, long time ago. We have such great memories from that day. Certainly one of the best days out we've ever had in the mountains. Except for the West Ridge descent which we resolved to never, ever do again. What. A. Slog.

Brenda has listened to us rave about this climb for many years and declared that we were to climb it again. With a bivy. And a descent back down the East Ridge.

So we did.

If you're going to bivy don't mention it to Parks because "the climb can be done in a day from the road". Running water can be found far down on the south side of the col. We encountered an absolutely fearless packrat that tried to drag away both Ross's bivy sack and my pack. We carried 2x30 meter ropes. Unused on the way up and tied together for rappelling on the descent.
