Maintenance at the Sapphire Col Hut
Over the Labour Day weekend we joined Steve and Nick at the Sapphire Col Hut to give them a hand with some maintenance.
Steve's main ambition was to install heat shielding on the walls surrounding the tiny cooking shelf. Having witnessed flames scorch those walls more than once it seemed like a worthy cause. But that did mean hauling up some heavy sheet metal.
And falling into holes with it.
Steve got to work and the rest of us observed, offered sage advice, drank tea, and occasionally even helped a bit.
